All the other questions about gifpack like this from Square indicate there’s no way to do this. I’ve done a small thing: I created a “gift box” containing a scarf, hat, candle, soap, and a UPC code. I reduce inventory when I remove the hat, scarf, candle, and soap. This is tricky because I can keep the candle in stock in the gift box, but the Square system runs out of stock. With QuickBooks, I can have a build assembly that takes care of inventory management. My other idea after reading yours was to reduce inventory by putting four UPC codes on the gift box, but that would mess up the pricing. We often charge a little more for gift boxes because we often use tin or other packaging material. It’s a small difference, though not a big one.
I’m facing a similar problem: I want to sell items as a set at a slight discount, rather than individually. I know Spark doesn’t have a way to do this easily. Initially, I set them up as a set with different items, but then if one item sells out, the others have to be set up as a separate set—Square doesn’t allow that. This capability is crucial.
I agree, a very important feature. One of our most popular products is our “kits,” where customers can choose colors from our existing stock. This means that supply comes out of our stock as if the customer had purchased each product separately.
Even the “least-worse” solution would require me to include every product that could be bundled twice, essentially running two separate processes that need to be constantly rebalanced. But we have many kits that can contain multiple colors in any combination, so we end up with dozens of items that can be pulled from our stock. This doesn’t cause any problems when a customer wants multiple yellow colors in a single kit.
Buying bundles, like those they buy as gifts, makes things easier for people who might not know which components they need. But it’s a nightmare for us, especially when you’re shopping both ways.
Weebly has seen a lot of improvements in customization, variations, and options features, but it still doesn’t have the functionality of the old POS. Only in Square does a customer have to specify each product when ordering a fast-food meal, along with the correct size bag for carrying! At the end of the night, the clerk has to count the burger patties sold –
The idea is to keep track of inventory by combining items already in inventory and creating a gift set or gift box to sell. I have the best solution or answer for this, but it’s still being asked because my solution isn’t the best. Nowadays, people who want to shop online sometimes go out. Helping different retailers make it different and convenient for their customers. This has always been a way to differentiate our products. Our customers might just like the idea of getting a gift set, which is already very attractive, or they might not be keen on mixing our products to create their own. We actually mixed and matched our items, and one of our distributors came to take pictures to sell his items to his other customers. Then, he started getting demand for our gift sets from other wholesalers.
